Packaging: Maggi Noods

Fo this packaging assignment we were tasked with creating a new packaging solution for an existing South African brand that was not only sustainable and innovative, but was also multi-functional. This was essential, as it would showcase our ability to think out-of-the-box and push ourselves to have a deeper understanding of how design can be both functional and hold meaning.
I chose to look inwardly for this assignment, as I wanted to create something that felt authentic to me as a South African woman, and also as a coloured woman. I wanted to create packing that speaks true to the common South Africans lived experiences, and showcase how Maggi is a brand that is for the people respects all of their diverse backgrounds and cultures. We are all united by noodles, and this understanding of and celebration of the everyday experience of ordinary South Africans is what lead to the final designs of my Noodle bowls, a.k.a Nood Bowls.
